ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival is an international festival held annually in downtown Toronto, Canada. imagineNATIVE includes programming of the best in international film, video, radio, television and new media (websites, interactive CD-ROMs and DVDs, etc) produced by Aboriginal people. imagineNATIVE also promotes contacts between international artists, producers, distributors, broadcasters, programmers and industry professionals to assist in the artistic and professional development of the Canadian Aboriginal media sector through workshops, panel discussions, and cultural events. The works accepted reflect the diversity of the worlds indigenous Nations and illustrate the vitality and excellence of our art and culture in contemporary media.
ELIGIBILITY
Film, Video, Television, Radio, and New Media (websites, interactive CD-ROMs, interactive DVDs etc) works completed after January 1st, 2002 by indigenous artists from any country.

imagineNATIVE is a competitive festival. Awards presented in 2004 were as follows:

$1000 Cynthia Lickers-Sage Award for Emerging Talent, sponsored by V tape
$500 Best New Media, sponsored by V tape
$1000 Best Radio, sponsored by Standard Radio Broadcasting
$500 Best Television, sponsored by CBC
$500 Best Short Drama, sponsored by CBC
$500 Best Experimental, sponsored by the Images Festival
$500 Best Music Video, sponsored by CHUM Television
