In this special presentation, International Spotlight guest programmers Pipaluk K. Jørgensen and Emile Péronard discuss the past, present and future of Greenlandic cinema. As part of this presentation, Pipaluk will introduce us to Anori, a dramatic, sweeping feature film currently in post-production that she directed and produced. This glimpse provides us a rare opportunity to look ahead and see the future of Greenlandic cinema.
Pipaluk K. Jørgensen | GREENLAND | Dramatic FEATURE
Work in production
Anori is a popular singer on tour in Greenland. One evening, she meets Inuk, a man from a small village on the west coast of Greenland. It's love at first sight and her life changes forever. Inuk works with the Arctic Command and is on a mission in the U.S. When the mission goes terribly wrong, Inuk almost drowns and left in critical condition.
Left in despair, Anori travels to him but unexpectedly finds herself in a land where everything is strange...a borderland between life and death. Walking this path between realities with care, Anori must try all that she can to get her love back to life and back to Greenland.
