imagineNATIVE producer-focused professional development lab for emerging and mid-career Canadian Indigenous Producers looking to hone their skills in dramatic feature film production.

The imagineNATIVE/CMPA Canadian Indigenous Film Producer Mini-Lab, generously sponsored by the Canadian Media Producers Association, is designed to hone the skills and knowledge base of emerging Canadian Indigenous producers through dedicated one-on-one engagement with an established Indigenous creative industry leader.

imagineNATIVE Story Lab

Deadline: September 28, 2016 at 9AM EST.

Born of the desire to give support for works in progress and to create development opportunities for screenwriters at the Festival, the Story Lab brings together industry professionals and some very lucky scripts.

Up to six (6) selected script and participants will be assigned in groups of three to industry mentors, who will spend 90 minutes helping to strengthen these short film projects forwards production. Participants will be expected to contribute to the discussion of two other projects at the table (scripts to be sent a week before the Festival), and will also receive feedback/suggestions on their project in a group-learning environment led by the mentor.

NFB/IMAGINENATIVE SEEK INNOVATIVE INTERACTIVE PROJECT PROPOSALS BY INDIGENOUS ARTISTS IN CANADA

Deadline: September 26, 2016 

The NFB in partnership with imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, are proud to announce a newly redesigned partnership supporting Indigenous artists in Canada’s leading interactive media field.

The NFB/imagineNATIVE Interactive Partnership allows for an expanded focus on the development phase of the selected project, with a wider range for content & production budget scope, as well as greater synergy and cross-collaboration between the NFB and the selected artist.

IMAGINENATIVE AND DGC ONTARIO GROW PARTNERSHIP WITH THEIR CO-PRESENTATION OF THE INAUGURAL MINI-LAB FOR CANADIAN INDIGENOUS FILM DIRECTORS

The imagineNATIVE Mini-Lab for Canadian Indigenous Film Directors is designed to hone the skills and knowledge base of emerging Canadian Indigenous directors through dedicated one-on-one engagement with an established Indigenous creative industry leader.

imagineNATIVE has selected DGC Ontario Director Member and Aboriginal filmmaker Tracey Deer as the lead mentor for the 2016 imagineNATIVE Mini-Lab.
