An immigrant man struggles with his difficult boss as he tries to create a life for himself on the island of Manhattan. But when he is visited by the spirit of an ancient Native American man he realizes that his existence is intrinsically linked to a larger history of struggle that is woven into the land he now stands on.
Renae Maihi (Nga Puhi/Te Arawa) is an award-winning and critically acclaimed writer and director in theatre and film. Her film Redemption screened at the Berlin Film Festival and Sundance, and won Best Short Film at imagineNATIVE 2010. Her award-winning short film Butterfly screened at imagineNATIVE in 2013.
