imagineNATIVE travels to Ottawa on June 23, 2012 to co-present a special shorts program at the inaugural Asinabka Film & Media Arts Festival. Entitled Commissions 2007-2011, this screening marks the first occasion that imagineNATIVE has collected a selection of its commissioned film, video and radio works into a single retrospective. Featuring youth-made videos, Genie-award-winning experimental films, and an innovative radio-art audio experience, imagineNATIVE’s Commissions 2007-2011 provides an exciting – and enlightening – opportunity to experience some of the diverse creative visions of Indigenous artists in Canada.
“We’re very pleased to present this collection of works at Asinabka and in Ottawa,” says Jason Ryle, imagineNATIVE’s Executive Director. “I congratulate all the organizers of this new, important festival and wish them all the best from everyone at imagineNATIVE.”
The program will be presented on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 8:30pm at the Museum of Civilization Theatre. For information about tickets, please visit www.asinabkafestival.org
