imagineNATIVE co-presents at NMAI’s Native Cinema Showcase

imagineNATIVE is excited to co-present for a second year at the Santa Fe Indian Market, which brings together the most gifted Native American artists from the U.S. with millions of visitors and collectors from around the world. The extended weekend of beauty and celebration ranks as the world’s largest and most highly acclaimed Native American arts show and as New Mexico’s largest attended annual weekend event. Entitled Commissions 2007-2011, this screening marks the first occasion that imagineNATIVE has collected a selection of its commissioned film, video and radio works into a single retrospective. Featuring youth-made videos, Genie-award-winning experimental films, and an innovative radio-art audio experience, this program provides an exciting – and enlightening – opportunity to experience some of the diverse creative visions of Indigenous artists in Canada.

“We’re very pleased to co-present again with NMAI this collection of works at the Native Cinema Showcase,” says Jason Ryle, imagineNATIVE’s Executive Director. “I wish all attendees to the program an enjoyable screening of budding work from Canada’s Indigenous filmmakers.”

The program will be presented on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 7:00PM at the Native Cinema Showcase.
